Designed specifically for electrical environments the new padlocks are non-conductive and spark resistant. Due to its lightweight construction, reduced shackle diameter and four different shackle heights, the compact padlock can easily be added to existing safety padlock sets providing a complete solution for every situation.
According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) around 1000 accidents at work are reported annually in the UK, caused by electric shock or burns while working with an electrical power supply. In addition to the wide-ranging Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require that ‘work on or near to an electrical system shall be carried out in such a manner as not to give rise…to danger’. Other features include: ribbed body design, which allows easy gripping and handling, along with enhanced impact resistance which ensures to withstand harsh environments. The insulated key chamber protects workers from shocks when the key is inserted. Furthermore, the keyway provides optimal security as the key won’t release until the padlock shackle is securely closed. They are supplied with one key for keyed different and two for custom use and ‘DANGER’ and ‘PROPERTY OF’ labels. Their size is 17 x 35 x 33mm (WxDxH), the shackle diameter is 4.74mm and the four available shackle heights are 25mm, 38mm, 50mm, 75mm.
